Last week we had some fantastic fall weather. The thermostat climbed into the 70's and after a few weeks of chilly weather (I won't say cold), we relished the opportunity to pull out our shorts one gorgeous afternoon. The boys needed to get some fresh air after a morning of errands, and I needed a change of scenery after months of family sessions.
Durant Nature Park is one of my favorite places to shoot, and it had been several weeks since my last visit, so I packed up the kids and we went for an adventure. The light was beautiful and we trekked around collecting pinecones, checking for frogs, throwing rocks, and investigating leaves and bumble bees. We stayed until the sun dipped down behind the tall pine trees surrounding the lake and a slight chill returned to the air.
After a busy season of family work, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't ready for a break. Mostly because I've missed shooting my boys. I've got some creativity exercises lined up for the next several weeks and I'm excited for a change of scenery in Seattle during the holidays. See you soon Mom and Dad!
