Pumpkin Patch

I arrived in Dublin in September of 2006. By October, I was searching the internet hoping to find a pumkin patch somewhere in Ireland I could drag Mr. Zoom to for an autumn outing.

Turns out pumpkin patching, and apple picking, and hayride going are terribly American in nature. I sadly discovered they don’t exist abroad (nor did the Pumpkin Spice latte).

We now live in a fantastically American town with wonderfully appropriate farms eager to import pumpkins from fields afar and “plant” them in rows to be accessed by a real live tractor driven hayride.

There’s a train ride, a corn maze, pony rides, gold mining, cotton candy, and roasted corn. I absolutely love it.

We visited the farm a few weeks ago, just before the start of October and had a great time. I’m sure we won’t make it through fall without at least one more trip to the pumpkin patch.

We now have 5 pumpkins sitting on our front porch. Any ideas for carving?
