So, what do you do when you’ve got two exhausted moms and 5 crazy kids to entertain while counting down the minutes, er seconds, until the Dad’s arrive?

Take an adventure to Dunkin’ Donuts, of course. The real reason for the “adventure” was to bribe convince the kids to let us take some pictures of them at the marina in the early morning light. Life of a Mamarazzi.

They cooperated for a good 3 minutes before they were off in 5 different directions and the camera was put away. Also, humidity does a number on my camera lens. Suggestions anyone?
After our adventure walk, we hit the donut shop. Those poor people didn’t know what blew in. My friend is a seasoned pro at this parenting thing. She had donuts ready, chocolate milk poured, and 4 of the 5 kids seated before I could even put my wallet away.

So apparently box of munchkins and a couple of chocolate milks does this to kids. I think it was a rendition of duck, duck, goose/ring around the rosy.

And then, at long last, the Dad’s arrived. We were ready.

Mr. Zoom was the official story reader and our friend’s Dad was the monster. The kids had a ball. After long days on the beach and at the pool we spent our evenings in intense board game competition, with beverages.

A great weekend and thanks again to the Averitt’s for such a good time!
